Abstract

This article reports on meta-analyses of the relations between self-efficacy belief and achievement or performance in every field. The quantitative review of thirty studies from eighteen articles. Results revealed positive and statistically significant relationships between self-efficacy beliefs and achievement or performance and persistence outcomes across a wide variety of subjects, experimental design and assessment methods. The relationships were found to be heterogeneous across studies, and the variance in reported effect sizes was partially explained by certain study characteristic. Implications for further research and for intervention are discussed. Key words   :   meta-analysis, self-efficacy, achievement, performance

Abstract

Reason for this meta analysis study is the variance of relation between social support and Post Traumatic Syndrome Disorder (PTSD). Six (6) articles show that social support correlates negatively with PTSD. Especially affection, instrumental and activity support. Abstract

Intense personal experience that provide insight into the nature of life that involved emotion, cognitive, and social component happens when people listen to music. Those musical emotion responses are expressed when the aesthetical value of music comes toward either through everyday music listening, or through intended performances. Therefore, this basic experimental research was proposed to examined Javanese subjects, using the Javanese gamelan musical instrument, and was conducted in Yogyakarta. The purpose of the experiment was to obtain a better picture on how the element of tempo stimulation influence the musical emotional responses of its listener.There were 32 subjects (musicians and non musicians) who are participating in this experiment. The study found that effect of unmodified and modified tempo element towards the musical emotional responses of the musicians differs from those of non-musician. There are definitely differences provided by effect of the tempo element stimulation towards the emotional musical responses of the listeners, as well as showing that tempo is the most important element and potentially stimulate emotional musical responses. Key words     :  Javanese gamelan, tempo, emotional musical responses.

Abstract

A meta-analysis was performed in an attempt to clarify the proposed relationship between religiosity/spirituality and mental health. Specific focus was given to the issue of definition, measurement, namely, whether differences in researchers conceptualizations of religiosity/spirituality and mental health could account for the various contradictory findings.Analysis of 20 studies conducted during 6 past years revealed that the definitions of religiosity/spirituality and mental health utilized by researchers were indeed associated with different type and strengths of the correlations between religiosity/spirituality (r = 0,345), non-organizational religiosity (r = 0,445), intrinsic religiosity (r = 0,227), multidimensional religiosity (r = 0,253), spirituality r = 0,470), and positive mental health. There are negative correlation among organizational religiosity (r = -0,012), non-organizational religiosity (r = -0,188), intrinsic religiosity (r = -0,212), multidimensional religiosity ( r = -0,130), spirituality (r = - 0,046), and negative mental health. Key words     : meta-analysis, religiosity, spirituality, mental health..

Abstract

Intrinsic motivation as a theory emerged in a study that defies the effect of reward to performance. This claim was strongly opposed by behaviorists, who believed that the role of rewards as reinforcement was very important. This controversy continues until today. Since then, there had been competing researches guided by two different perspectives.This study examines the relationship between intrinsic motivation and performance through meta-analysis techniques. 24 studies were selected according to the inclusion criteria of this study, and analyzed to find the correlation of intrinsic motivation and performance. The result show that correlation between intrinsic motivation and performance is r = 0.26. This result could lead to two conclusions. The first conclusion could be that there is a significant correlation between intrinsic motivation and performance. On the other hand the correlation was not as strong as expected, meaning that external factors, like reward, could have stronger correlation with performance.  Key words   :   meta-analysis, intrinsic motivation, performance

Abstract

The research is aimed to discover relation between the intencity of interpersonal communication and aggressiveness. Subject for this research is student from Psychology of Education and Guidance Program, FKIP UNPATTI, with amount of research subject consist of 86 people.To discover relation between intencity of interpersonal communication with aggressiveness, hence [in] using correlation data analysis of product moment. Result of data analysis show intencity of interpersonal data analysis show intencity of interpersonal communication and aggressiveness have negative correlation and very significant (rxy = -0,460 and p < 0,01).Effective contribution of intencity of interpersonal communication equal to 21,1% to aggressiveness, the rest equal to 78,9% is other factor that have an effect on in this research, even internal factors and also esternal factors.  Key words     : Intensity Communications of Interpersonal, Aggressiveness

Abstract

Meta analysis applied to 12 studies has proved that religiosity overall relate to death anxiety significantly. Intrinsic religious orientation, one of religiosity’s aspects has the biggest correlation coefficient than the four other aspects (r=-0-26). The following other four aspects are believe in life after death (r=0.1q97), ritual (r=0.149), the importance of religion (0.061) and stage of religion (r=-0.004). This meta analysis study findings shows that religiosity aspect is one of variables which has correlation to the death anxiety. Key words    :  death anxiety, religiusitas

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find correlation between spirituality and proactive coping among survivors of Bantul earthquake. Hypotheses proposed is that there’s a positive correlation between spirituality and proactive coping among survivors.Subjects were 92 residence of Bantul and who were survive of earthquake on last May 27 2006. Scales for measurement were proactive coping inventory (Greenglass, 2002) and Spiritual Transedence Scale (Piedmont, 1999). Reliability of proactive inventory and spiritual transedence scale in order are 0.909 and 0.933.Data tested by Pearson’s correlation product moment via SPSS for windows. Result of the research showed that spirituality and proactive coping are having very significant correlation coefficients 0.741 (p=0.000). It mean that spirituality influence the emergence of proactive coping among earthquake survivor. Key words   : spirituality, proactive coping, earthquake survive
